Transcription: St. Columb Kill founded Durrow in the 6th century. Despite numerous raids and famines, Durrow retained many important historic relics. The 7th century Book of Durrow remains one of the great treasures of Trinity College Library. Durrow itself features a marvellous high cross with panels showing figures from the Book of Genesis. The Kells also left behind them some magnificent stone crosses. These high crosses are along with the Book of Kells and the Book of Durrow are Ireland's biggest contribution to Western European art of the Middle Ages.
